Albums
The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, as well as a number of compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 as a result of the collaboration.
Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group The group held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was a hit by fans and the band went on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with Toto.

He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.

The album debuted on November 6, 2018, and featured three new songs from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, plus recorded versions of four older tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included the cover of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe" which the band opted to include after hearing the song on the radio.
